Shuttle or Train
 

I will arrive at CDG airport in the morning. I will need to get to the Latin Quarters. Should I use a shuttle or will the train be easy? Thanks for your advice.

Personal preference, ymmv, I would take a cab or use a car service arranged by the hotel at which you are staying. Trains can by a bit dicey, tranfer and navigating metro with much luggage can be difficult. A couple of recent threads on this if you want to search...

Blue Shuttle
 

Thanks for your reply. Although the fare is only 8 Euros for the train, I may just take a shuttle. I found a Blue Airport Shuttle bus for 14.50 Euros. Has anyone heard of it or used it?

I was on the blue shuttle a few years ago, going from my hotel to the airport. It was fine. I might worry a little about being able to find it, going from the airport to town. CDG is crowded and confusing.

A taxi would be my preference, assuming the 45 or so euro is not too much. (Could be more if stuck in traffic.)

The train could be a problem with luggage.

I use them a lot; have an e-account with them. They can be kind of spacy,
don't answer the phones before 8 AM, etc., but . . .if you call, they always
come back for you, and they even picked me up the one time, I forgot that I get there the day after I leave and made the reservation for the wrong day and wasn't there when they arrived. You always get picked up/dropped off at Porte 16 Departure level(that's one below Arrivals), so you have to take an elevator down to get to the right gate. The minivans don't say "Blue Van", but they are supershuttle blue with a big yellow plane stencilled on the hood.
They are kind of hard to miss.

you want cheap, you want easy? with luggage, the train is pure hell. the stations are huge, crowded, and very verticle. they also do not stop in front of your hotel.

Oh, I forgot that it's Porte 16 Departure for Terminal 1---I mostly fly UAL. The instructions will give you the right gate if you're coming in at another terminal. I also don't miss the grief some Paris Taxi drivers give you if they don't like the size/type/number of bags you are travelling with---plus the odd calculations based on luggage specs. I've always wanted to see how they would figure it if I arrived with an entourage, multiple pieces of odd-sized and peculiar luggage, and a brace of racing greyhounds.

It never crossed my mind to take a Taxi. because of the language barrier and the chance of getting stuck in traffic. There was a yellow airport shuttle that cost a little more than the blue shuttle. The Blue Shuttle was mentioned in one of my Paris Travel Guides. I've decided on the Blue Shuttle Van. Thanks again.
