"Sparkly" Eiffel Tower

Was in Paris last week and on one night - and one night only - we caught the Eiffel Tower when all the sparkly lights were going off. I haven't been able to find out any information about the schedule, but since we saw it by chance and only one night I assume it is for only a certain period -once a night or once an hour? And only for the holidays? Pretty spectatular display.

I believe it is every hour on the hour from sunset til the small hours of the morning.

You're right. It is every hour on the hour for 10 minutes.

Not just for the holidays. Saw the sparkling when we went in the spring. I can't remember all the specific details but we had found info about it on the web.

Was pleasantly surprised how it catches your attention from a variety of locations around Paris.

my last room at the Hyatt Madeleine had an amazing view of it....right from the bed.

Thanks for the link. After a little browsing around I found this link that is a great history of the lighting of the tower:

My favorite place to watch this is sitting on a bench at the base of the steps coming from the Trocadero.

It's really beautiful. I think it would only work on the Eiffel Tower.
