Looking for a comprehensive map store in Paris
 

I like finding different kinds of high-quality, tourist maps when I travel. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for a store that might be one-stop shopping for this type of thing in Paris.

For an example, I would give Stanfords in London.

I have a couple of different suggestions from a book as well, if anyone has comments on the following: L'Espace IGN, Gilbert Jeune, and W.H. Smith.

The main FNAC at Les Halles.

W H Smith on rue de Rivoli.

L'Espace IGN is 2 floors with nothing but maps and map-related items. It's just off the Champs Elysees on rue Boetie. Here's a link:

They have walking, hiking, bicycling, topographic and many other types of maps for all of France, as well as other places around the world. In addition to whatever you're seeking, it's a fascinating place to just wander around.

If you just want a tourist nap of Paris, you could go to a FNAC store that has books (not all do) but many small magazine shops (labeled "La Presse") carry the same thing. I use a small booklet called "Le Petit Parisien" which has bus, metro and street maps for each of the 20 arrondissements of Paris. If yiur just going around Paris by public transportation, it's all you'll need. It's widely available as per above and costs about 7 Euros.

W.H. Smith is a store that sells English langauge books. If you want English langauge tourist (or other) books and didn't bring them with you, you can go there. Otherwise, there's no reason to go across town to go there.
