Overnight in Paris

Flying with a layover in Paris for 18 hours was exciting, especially with a crowd of friends. You get to learn the map, the REV schedules, and definitely, the witness-or-victim-of-a-crime paranoia almost inevitably haunting backpacks and purse owners in town  . Yet, 11 months later, I have to go back alone, for another (this time a 24 hr) layover, along with a 6-7 kg backpack, containing my precious laptop. I have no problem sleeping at the airport for a night, however waiting the day there would be a pity. A friend of mine mentioned the Formule1 hotel chain, where a single room would cost 30 euro (No problem, I thought, if I can leave my backpack, take a walk around the city and get back for a good night sleep). The last time we (friends and I) shared a room at b&b, but the prices were great for a group of people, not a single. Our group took a shuttle from CDG to the hotel and then another one to the REV station for going downtown.
This time, I don't know anything about the reliability of the Formule 1 hotels and their closeness to CDG (respectively, to cheap means of transportation). Has anybody happened to use their service? Can you, please, tell me if they're approachable by airport shuttles and/or metro stations? Thank you in advance!

P.S. If you can think of a better way I can possibly resolve the heavy luggage + overnight stay issue, please let me know. The layover time is between 11 am on the 28th and 9 am, the 29th of June. Thanks again.

On such short notice you'll have some difficulty to get a Formule1 but here is their online reservation:

http://www.hotelformule1.com/formule1/index.html

the closest would be the CDG Goussainville. Price € 26.-

the hotels are not known to have direct public transportation access but there are so many around Paris that you'll probably have no problem of finding one. 18 locations. But reserve online otherwise you'll have no chance.
Try also Etap Hotel. Same rates, same system

http://www.etaphotel.com/etaphotel/index.html

Hurry up, these hotels have an almost 100% occupation rate.

There is NO possibility of leaving your luggage at CDG.

Formule1 hotels have strict check-in times and are unattended for much of the day. You let yourself in with a credit card and code. Similarly with Etap. (That's what I was told. I haven't used them myself.)

If you are willing to go up somewhat in price, consider Ibis, the next step up the ladder from Etap - http://www.ibishotel.com

Use the www.ratp.fr site. However, the English Itineraries link is broken, so you have to use the French Itineraries link. However, it's pretty easy to figure out.

Unless you can find a busline between CDG and Goussainville or Les Noues, you are looking at a very long RER trainride. From the airport you will have to go to Paris (Gare d´Nord ) and then backtrack along line D .
You can see the RER lines here: http://www.citefutee.com/orienter/rer.php#.

Transports en commun : RER D1 Gare du Nord ou Gare de Lyon ou Chatelet les Halles. Descendre à Goussainville.

I hope I am not too late, but here the translation:

Go with the RER the whole way to Gare du Nord, change there on the RER D1 up to Goussainville.

A long way, but the best as the bus system is quite complicated.

A cab would cost you approx. € 30.-

Have a good trip.

That sounds like a lot of time. There are cheap hotels in Paris itself that would be a lot less effort.

Thanks for telling me about the distance,
I cancelled the registration. I think I remember formule1's logo on the airport shuttles last year. I will try to find one and see where it's going to take me. Thanks again! I will try to check this address if I get on-line from there. Please, let me know if you find any formule 1 or other hotels I can get to fast. (My flight out is early in the morning on the 29th)
