As for the boutiques, I am neither svelte nor chic enough for clothes shopping, except in the places that cater to "tailles ronds" (which, IMO, is slightly less insulting-sounding a phrase than "grosse grössen"). Besides, why spend my days despairing in a fitting room, when I can walk around admiring Paris instead?

The weekend was so successful that I am actually contemplating my first-ever trip report (suitably expurgated, naturally).

I liked the hotel, I loved loved loved all the meals, not just because of the food but also because they were cheap cheap cheap (most expensive was 30€ per person), and I even had time yesterday morning on my way to the RER to stop at the patisserie, the boulangerie, and the traiteur so that I could take some Paris home with me.

Very little shopping but much walking and much more eating. Entirely satisfactory despite the weather.

Rudi, I am quite surprised by your photo, as I know from experience that Freddie is quite well behaved in public.
