ATM in CDG T2?
Hello,
I tried searching the forums for any updates regarding ATM machines to get some cash when I land into CDG with AF in a week. From what I understand there is an HSBC ATM by the RER station. Anyone have recent info if it is still there? And where it is actually located? Appreciate the help |
Which T2 will you be arriving in? Assuming it is 2E based on your location.
Nice map here: https://www.parisaeroport.fr/en/pass...nal=2E&level=0 According to this, it is still there. https://www.ifly.com/airports/paris-...banks-currency |
The ATMs at CDG are to be avoided due to the monopoly by an unsavory company. Better to get cash once you arrive in the city. You can take a taxi or the RER just using your card.

Yes, there is an HSBC agency in front of the Sheraton entrance. You have also ATM in the arrival zones of the terminals, but they do charge a high commission.

I hope you are not getting euros for tipping. We do not tip in Paris.

But you don't tip at the checkout in a supermarket, at the self-service counter, or similar. |

maybe you should start telling the Parisians I’ve seen several places lately try to hold up Americans for tips. I told one waiter when I was there last time that I had planned to leave a few euros but once you started scamming me like this, you’re not getting anything

Any time any waiter ever made any sort of hint about a tip, I always made sure that no tip was given, even when I was with a group. One time I even saw a bill with a rubber stamp on it in red "tip not included."
If you want to have some coins to give to the homeless, that is always a nice gesture. They do not take cards yet even if they all have mobile phones. So I suppose that some of them will have things like Apple Pay before long. |
