Lyon Hotel Recommendations
Anyone have any recent experiences at hotels in Lyon, and have any favorites?
Considering Villa Florentine but would ideally like to be somewhere walkable to city center and other neighborhoods. Also saw that Cour de Loges is now closed and being renovated to a Radisson Hotels.

I wouldn't look for hotel around the train station as there is not much to do around.
Assuming you want to visit and can afford it, La Villa Florentine is quite well situated. All the major "to-do's" are with-in walk-in distance.
You also have the Intercontinental. It won't be a boutique hotel as La Villa Florentine, but it is only a couple years old and in an historic building (a former hospital), completely renovated.
Both of those are actually worth a visit anyway, even if you don't sleep there.
Another option would be Villa Maia (but if you're afraid that la Villa Florentine is not enough in the center, this one is little bit further.

For anyone searching this thread in the future, I'm going to stay at Hotel Vaubecour. It's centrally located. I booked it a while back and managed to get a very good (low) rate.
