Normandy D-Day tour Recomendations
Will be in Paris for a week in March and would like to see the Normandy/D-Day area. From the research so far it look like there are lots! of Day options from Paris, yes I know renting a car and staying over night is better, but need to balance time in Paris. Really interested in the history aspect of this and what I would want o focus on, I've seen tours that include a cider tasting or other alike offerings no interest. If any one has a good recommendation for a tour guide or company, please let me know.

I am going to Paris in April, we'll go to Lisieux for a day trip. In my "research", I noticed there's also a train to Bayeux (I was considering it, but we just can't do it this time) and from there it's about 20km (12 miles or so) to the Cemetary and Omaha Beach. As I recall, the train is 2 - 2 1/2 hours..

Good Tour
So we ended up taking the train from Paris to Bayeux (2hr) and did a all day tour with Overlord Tours - very well done and professional. They only offer full days tours if you can start the day at 8:20 In Bayeux vs half day tours from Paris. Several offerings depending on your interest level and if you want a more US, Canadian or British focused tour. Did the Band of Brothers all day tour and again well done. Am was more of an over all D-Day local, Omaha Beach, Sainte-Mere Eglise, Pointe du hoc, with the Afternoon more specific to Band Of Brothers. Overlord is the only tour company allowed on the grounds of Brécourt Manor.
Hope this helps
