Doing some risk analysis before I leave.
what if you test positive?. How long before you are allowed a second test and how go you get it if quarantined? seemd like the smart play might be to get two tests around the same time to bring the chance of false positive to zero. what if you are in between hotels when the positive tests come (say a smaller town line Rouen, vs CDG/Paris). seems smart to get the results while still checked in), |

If the rapid test comes positive you need to take a PCR test to confirm the results. If the PCR is positive you must enter isolation for 10 days.
I'm wondering how you go about getting retested once you have confirmed with PCR test and then quarantine (I'm not results shopping, just wondering how you get the all-clear test once you have been quarantined and the period is ending). |
beachfan, calabasas here.
Whatever curve ball being thrown at you, just take the least path of stress. We did that same analysis too. Here's what we decided: Just rent a VW bus and go on a tour around Europe. Que sera, sera. |

Germany has put Nice (actually the provence than Nice is on) on the hot list (if not vaccinated, mandatory quarantine upon entry). |

A few more tips
In Paris you notice numerous signs offering tests. They read things like "COVID-19 Dépistage" (screening) or "COVID-19 Test." If you see a sign over a tent that is not in front of a hospital, do not waste your time unless you are a part of the French healthcare system ("Securité Social") as unless you need your account number for billing. Otherwise, go to a pharmacy where they will take cash or your credit card for an amount typically around €25. You will need a smartphone but at the pharmacy where I went, they had spares. The app asked for your phone number. We have French (Orange) accounts so I don't know if they send to American numbers. We got the result by text which required, IIRC, two factor authorization. We saved everything as PDFs and had paper copies printed just in case.
Also, someone up thread provided excellent information about installing the Pass Sanitaire on the Apple Watch. (I thanked him there.) Many establishments are stunned when I show them my watch. |
Will pharmacies verify an Italian PCR or antigen test so we can get the QR code? We're traveling from Italy and going to Disneyland Paris the next day and would prefer not to have to pay for another COVID test. Or do we have to email the result to the French Health department and wait for a code?

your question is rather vague…
Actual recent experiences of course given the fluid nature of the Covid things. |
NCE Airport pharmacy testing
Has anyone used the NCE airport pharmacy for PCR or Antigen testing recently? Is it reliable (in terms of results delivery time) and are there usually long waits for the testing?
Thanks in advance! |
