Reservations at two three star restaurants for mid June were accepted, and they know I am American (but maybe not that live in the USA)

Message to Goldorak anyone else.

Air Tahiti just cancelled our mid june flight LAX-CDG.

We can still rebook with AF but am beginning to wonder if this an omen.

So again, what do you think Paris will be like mid June? Will everyone be wearing a mask?

Will the restaurants/stores be "en pleine forme"?

Most likely in mid-June everyone will be still wearing a mask and there will be a curfew at 11pm as per government policy. Stores and restaurants shall be open by then - for restaurants, not only outside but also inside.

As we all know, this outlook may change depending on the number of Covid cases in Paris. Vaccination is speeding up (+500k doses per day delivered in France on a weekly average) but this virus is particularly cumbersome.

nothing to add to what Marambio has said. Life should be definitely more normal than today, but for the mask, it will still be there. Museums, theaters will be also open by then.

I think my friend is right .
Do you agree?

So, I would favor a visit in September…
Cheers

nobody can know who’s right or wrong, sincerely. Restaurants and museums will definitely be open in June. Some theaters will reopen only in September indeed. May be we’ll be all again in lockdown in september because of whatever variant appearing somewhere, etc.
It’s already hard to know what will happen next week, so September...

Disney just announced that they are opening June 17th. Hopefully, things are looking better. However, it's still not clear exactly what type of vaccine verification will be accepted by the French government, particularly important for third country nationals.

Indeed no official announcements yet, but for non-EU arrivals I would expect something similar to what Italy just announced (restricted number of flights, PCR test before departure and rapid test on arrival), although perhaps with a bit more paperwork involved (French bureaucracy loves these Covid shenanigans).

I would also assume that any vaccine travel bubble would in first instance involve the vaccine brands authorised in the EU, i.e. Pfizer, Moderna, Janssen and AstraZeneca. Good for US-Americans, Britons and Israelis, not so good for Chinese, Russians or Latin Americans.

Just to put a bow on this thread, tourism is back with a vengeance. And it brought a lot of Emily's with it.

Hotels are sold out in most of the higher end places. Restaurants are packed. And all over town I have seen young women dressed very nicely, with immaculate hair and makeup taking selfies and filming themselves.

But the best was a woman at my hotel, a very nice hotel, wearing a sexy black Valentino dress, heels, upswept hair with super red lips, filming herself....AT BREAKFAST!

If only we still had no tourists. It was wonderful and took me back at least 15-20 years when we could visit places without being trampled.

Ha ha the thought of women wearing heels in the streets of Paris during the day! Is their goal to be crippled for life?
