Paris CDG: Car/limo service from airport to city?

Ordinarily I'd take a regular taxi -- but, on this trip -- it'll be the whole family for an extended stay. That means 4 people and more luggage than I'd normally travel with.

Any recommendations for a car service at CDG? Ideally, one that can be booked in advance, and will meet us in-terminal?

I understand that Uber is available there, but it's not quite what I'm looking for.

I'm looking for a car service that:
- I can reserve in advance,
- that will meet us in-terminal (outside of Customs), and
- that can confirm a large enough vehicle for our needs.

Ask your hotel's concierge.

Yes, of course. I was asking here for recommendations based on experience.

Google yields lots and lots of “providers” with webpages — many that really don’t even look like legit companies. Others appear to be resellers (like independent Blacklane wannabes) but that try to appear as though they’re actual car services rather than booking co’s. Over on TripAdvisor, there are dozens of highly recommended CDG car services ... but a high proportion of the glowing, five star reviews for many of those there are from travelers with only one single review in their entire time on TA. Pretty fishy.

Hence my request here for recommendations...

Seriously, have your hotel arrange it.

We arrange transfers though the hotel we're staying at.

If you read reviews what you discover is that most of these services in Paris are rather unreliable.

I have pre-reserved a ride with this "taxi" service and it worked well but that was to the airport

I also use Blacklane. They will arrange it with a local provider. I use the app. Its almost like Uber in that respect. I have used it all over the world. They will meet you at the airport and you can choose a larger vehicle. It isn't cheap, but I have found it very reliable and easy to use.

I had to go back into my archives, but on my first trip to Paris via CDG, I used airport-shuttle.com to get to our hotel on Ile Saint-Louis.
In the event, there was a bicycle street race, with many main thoroughfares closed, and the driver had to use a lot of detours to get us there.
It was over a decade ago, but because it was my first such transfer, I remember it well and that it was a good choice.

Taxi G7 is the largest taxi dispatcher in Paris. Most taxis you find at the official taxi queue are Taxis G7. There is absolutely no need to arrange in advance for taxi service. Taxis are plentiful and can easily carry up to 7 passengers and their luggage.

Shuttle services are consistently unreliable in Paris and I would particularly avoid any service established basically for tourists, i.e. any using the English word shuttle in their name.

However, it appears you are looking for more than just the basic service. Some hotels (typically 5 star) offer an option which will pick you up at baggage claim and escort you through customs and onto their awaiting car service. I would definitely contact the hotel´s concierge, but short of that, I have heard that Blacklane does a good job.

Orange County Commuter and Tamino ... great info. Thanks to both of you!

I checked out G7 online. In addition to ‘regular’ taxi service, it looks like they also offer a pre-reserved option (with choice of vehicle type and size, and they meet you in-terminal) all for a pretty small upcharge at CDG. The same is also apparently avaialable anywhere in Paris — to the airports, or anywhere else. And searching them online also brought up positive discussion about G7 on a Rick Steves forum.

That’s probably the ideal option for us — the extras that we need, but since they’re still a true taxi service they’re allowed to use the bus lanes (that private car services can’t use) so they can avoid traffic jams.

G7 worked very well for me in Paris last summer. One possible gotcha: I was never able to set up my grandfathered MileagePlus Explorer Mastercard in the app. Every attempt came back "payment refused". I had no trouble with a MileagePlus Explorer Visa card.
