FRA to LYS flight: going through full passport control in France
Yesterday, when our LH flight landed in LYS, everyone had to go through a full passport and customs control. This was not just a document check by police officers at the gate -- it seems that our plane was routed to the international gate that led to the actual passport control and customs area. They did not stamp my passport, but they did scan it and carefully examined my stamps looking for the most recent entry. I knew that France extended the docs check at its border, but I still did not expect that an intra-Schengen flight departing from a domestic terminal in Germany would be treated as an international flight upon arriving in France.

I went through a complete document check on a flight from Venice to Bordeaux. Over that last year or so, France has stepped up document checks on arriving passengers, even those from Shengen countries.

Unfortunately, this has become the norm in LYS since at least 3 years. And usually with only one police booth open. So expect long and slow lines  :td:

AFAIK, only KLM was arriving/departing from non-Shengen area in Nice since a few years now. This was already very bad... |
Happened to me on a MAD - CDG flight - full passport or ID Card scan upon arrival. No customs control, though.
