Cheap accommodation in Paris?

I'll be in Paris from 12 October until 16 October 2018. I'm looking for a cheap room near a subway station for about US$100-US$125/night. Is that possible? Any suggestions?

Thanks!

The Marignan fits the bill. Very basic accommodations without air conditioning or an elevator, but it's a Left Bank institution.

Should be fine at this time of the year right?

The odds are on your side but I've experienced very hot weather in Paris in October.

If I arrive in Paris late, say between 9:30 PM and midnight, is there still a good chance I can take the subway to the hotel? What's the last train from Gare Du Nord? I want to arrive in Paris as late as possible to maximize my time in London.

Thanks.

Night buses operate all night, but if you want to get to the Hôtel Marignan at 13 rue du Sommerard (the cheap one, not the much fancier hotel with the same name) by train, two stops on the RER B and a seven-minute walk will get you there. I think the RER operates until 1am, and I'm sure the metro (don't call it the subway!) shuts down then.

Paris has interlinking metro and RER (regional) rail transit systems which are very efficient. I've grown to prefer taking the bus, now that smartphones have made finding a route so easy, but for a late-night arrival I'd stick with the RER.

Remember that France's time zone is one hour ahead of the UK's.
