When to arrive CDG for 6:30AM departure
 

We're staying at the airport Novotel and traveling with a "PMR" (personne à mobilité réduite -- a wheelchair rider). Our Lufthansa flight to Munich leaves at 6:30AM. How early should we leave the hotel to clear security and get boarded?

Is your hotel in Paris or at CDG?

The super early flights at CDG go very quickly, both for check-in and security. When I have taken such flights (and I was an airline employee for 35 years!), I was always there too early, but it's all about piece of mind, isn't it?

For a 6:30 flight, 5:30 is more than sufficient. The business people will still be walking up for check-in totally calmly at 6:15.

It's the airport Novotel. Many thanks for the information. I'm going to try for a later flight leaving at 8:30, but it's good to know the worst is less bad than it might have been.

Reporting back from MUC…. We would have gotten through CDG in a flash except for one little detail I omitted from my OP: we had bags to check. The wheelchair got us ahead of most of the throng at check-in and, after a few minutes' wait, through security and to our gate.

The assistance at MUC was exceptional and we made it from the satellite terminal to our gate at the far end of terminal 2 while having a pleasant conversation with our athletic aide.
