Arrive CDG from USA (on AA) - continuing to Montpelier; TGV or AF ?

We arrive in CDG from Dallas @ 0930
The first non-stop flight to MPL is on AF @ 1215
The first TGV we could catch is @ 1157 and arrives Montpelier @ 1622
I know AF would get us there much sooner but we value ease of transfer versus time savings.. moreover we have not been in CDG in 20 years.
So what would be the easiest transfer? To the TGV or AF
Added: probably carry-on baggage only but not 100% sure yet

Thanks

If you have not been to CDG in 20 years, please consider the following: this is not the airport through which I would attempt a non-ticketed connection with fewer than 3 to 4 hours between scheduled arrival and departure be it by rail or air.

Not quite sure what you mean by "non-ticketed"
On AF I intend to to be checked in before boarding my flight to CDG.
For the TGV I would also have a ticket using the SNCF app which I have used before (just not via CDG)...

It my take an hour to collect any checked bags, but other than that, I think it's fine either way.
I jsut took the TGV to CDG from my AF flight with only 1:30 to spare and I was checked in and at the gate with 30 min to spare.

FWIW, it's about a 10 minute walk from Terminal 2A (AA) to the CDG TGV train station. The AF terminal is another 5 minute walk (with moving sidewalk) just beyond the TGV station.

Personally, I find flying from CDG to be much easier than the TGV (I hate the masses all rushing onto the train at the same time, and the hassle of bringing luggage on/off the train). OTOH, Mrs. Billygoat (born and raised in France) prefers the TGV because of no security lines, buy-on-board food, and shorter distance to our destination (vs. the airport).

Just fly as you will arrive sooner and this is not adding any hassle. As billygoat27 said, it will require 5 more minutes walk to reach Terminal 2F compared to train station.
