Paris - Latin Quarter

Does anyone know of any hott deals out there for July 3-6 in the Latin Quarter in Paris?
I'm SPG Gold.
Any chances of a upgrade somewhere?

To my knowledge, the only Starwood at all in central Paris is the Prince de Galle.

The only other 2 are out near Versailles and the CDG airport one.

None in the Latin Quarter.

No SPG, Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt in the Latin Quarter. Le Méridien at Montparnasse. Comfort Inn in Latin Quarter.

What do you mean? There are many hotels in Paris. July is a very high tourist time filled with Americans and other Europeans. There is a hostel in the Latin Quarter as well as many other hotels. You may want to do a search on google for a string of "hotels in Latin Quarter in Paris"

No hostels! Looking for a nice hotel close to where my friends are.
I'm SPG Gold, and HH Silver.

Not an SPG or HH property, but I did stay at the Holiday Inn (St Germain, I believe) not too far from there and it was a very decent property at a respectable rate, not nearly as "far" from things as I expected at all. Paris is just one of those cities where I know I'm not going to earn points "in my favo(u)rite program".

From what i've been reading online, Paris is small.
What about ANYWHERE within the city to stay?

I'm really not sure now exactly what you are after. Is it that you must stay near your friends and you are willing to pass up a Starwood property? Or you don't care about distance as long as you can stay at a Starwood property?

Paris is not a "small" city - there are over 2 million inhabitants within city limits and over 10 million in the metro area. Public transportation is very good, though: buses, railroad and subway.

Have you tried checking out the Paris forum at FlyerTalk Travel? There are many threads discussing hotel options.

Otherwise, do a search here with the keyword "Paris" and you will find several threads about Starwood properties.

Try the Paris Hilton across from the Eifel Tower. Its just a few (?) stops on the RER train to St. Michelle (Latin Quarter).

Checked out the Hilton with the view of the Eiffel tower. Rates are over 500USD.

I'm trying to stay for a little under 200USD/night. Preferred starwoods, but I guess thats not going to happen.

I hope this doesn't come off "wrong" or offensive, but lots of people have given you excellent advice here yet you continue to say no. Why post if you don't like what people are telling you? BlairVan Horn is the supreme Paris guru on FT (and a wonderful person to boot! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif. Please - people post because they want to help, but if you keep saying no, then many people won't bother.

Whenever I go to Paris I never pay more than $80 a night. However; I don't stay in chain hotels either - points aren't always the "thing". How much time do you really spend in your hotel room when you're in Paris?

Check out the citadine apartments as well if you're staying for a long period of time. You may also want to ask your friends if there is space in the dorms at Sorbonne since it is summer.

If you want to stay under $200 US then do a search as has been recommended by three other posts in this thread. There are lots of options to choose from. Don't worry about the points. FYI, the hostels in paris are quite lovely and charming actually.

Shockingly enough http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif, I'm going to have to agree with LDSant here. GO check the Paris forum. People here aren't going to be able to make a nice Starwood with a $200 a night or under rate appear in the Latin Quarter for you. Sorry. Not going to happen. People have given you lots of suggestions.

Good luck.
