New Year's Eve in Nice
Advice needed please. I'm going to be with 2 sons and their gf's in Nice on New Year's Eve. I haven't figured out where we're staying yet, so we have some flexibility if somewhere outside of Nice makes sense (although we are only in Nice for one day, the 31st, so staying in Nice for the night would give us a little more time there). I don't know what we will want to do, but I think we need to make reservations for dinner and I'd like to take care of that before we go. Suggestions?

Why want to be in Nice for New Year's eve with Monaco nearby?
Monaco is about 20 minutes from Nice on the train from Nice Ville - the central station.
You will be a lot safer in Monaco, you will be in a much prettier place - there's nothing more beautiful than Monaco at night - especially the Casino square and the harbour and there will be beautiful fireworks on the harbour at midnight. All is within walking distance. You can even go to Monaco Ville up on the rock (Le Rocher) and see the Palace and Christmas season decorations are really beautiful everywhere in the Principality.
