One Day in Paris

We are traveling to London for XMAS week and plan to take a day trip to Paris. We have 2 children-ages 14 and 11. We are looking to maximize our time in Paris. We have from 11am ish- 8PM ish. We would like to see the main sites-Eiffel tower, Notre Dame...and have soem time to eat and walk around. Any advise on how best to use our time would be appreciated-on off bus, private guide etc...
Thanks

Do your kids like history? Les Invalides. Napoleon is buried ( a huge wooden casket on display) there. Many other French generals as well. Lots of armor, military stuff and history about France. There is a really great place to eat on the site and it is next to the Rodin museum.

I visited March 2010. It was on my list of must sees in Paris.
