A night in Paris

I tried to find where this belong so if it has to be moved so be it. Here's my situation and it's giving me a headache so I'm looking for some educated advice. I'm a HH diamond hyatt PLAT .Wife is hyatt platinum. We are arriving in Paris on a 7am flight into CDG . I have never been to Paris either has wife we also are traveling with two small girls aged 4 and 2. Our connecting flight departs the next day 4pm so we have a little over 24hours to spend in Paris.

Now the hotel options are crazy. I went with the hyatt CDG first because it's 125euro and I can use a diamond suite upgrade I have left over . Reasoning because it's close to the airport we will get access to the lounge and hyatt always delievers for us. The I stated to look into the ICH using the points/cash option for $240US that's a nice property but no access to the lounge add 90euro now it's getting too pricey so I had a look at the Hilton ADT. Ideal location i can use some points 50k for 300euro a night room so sightly less than 1cent per point which I read is good/medium. Or I can go the best the PH for 22k which I have a total of 30k in my account and was going to save it for the PH Milan two week later.

So I have a lot of options but which is best. I was thinking I wanted to stay close to the airport I didn't want to miss our connecting flight and be lost in paris yet I want to see the sights I have my doubts about ever returning to pairs also the expense travelling to paris from CDG needs to be taken into account as well. If its 20euro pp it would be cheaper to stay closer to the city.

So which property and why would you take,

Thanks
Shane.

Probably belongs in the France forum.

To answer your questions I think we need a little more information:

1) What are you planning/wanting to do in Paris?
2) Where is your next flight to/Which terminal will you be using?
3) What do you want to get out of the hotel?

As Hyatt Plat, you will not be getting many perks, though.

I arrive In Paris at 7am on TG . I depart the next day 6pm on OU to Zagreb. Havent got terminals as yet. As for planned I haven't got any clue don't want to go crazy with two kids but 100% see the effiel tower . Staying as a platinum in hyatt there is two differences . If I stay in the PH I would get anything just base room as using points I'm not expecting an upgrade. But at the CDG hyatt I will pay and deploy a suite upgrade which will give lounge access and save money on food/drinks through out the day.
In the hilton ADT not sure what to expect if I stay using points as a diamond. And for $240US the Interconniential paris is a good price I read people always use points at this property and are impressed.

I just had a similar dilemma...two nights with the first landing @7PM. I went with the 15K Paris HI Opera Grands Blvds for the first night w 5K points plus $60 and splurged for the 2nd night @ the PH vendrome @22k points. Figured I could cap the vacation off in style! I wouldn't worry about getting lost since both are close to the train to CDG. Hope this helps!

For 22k at PH Paris was it worth it ? Did you get upgraded or lounge access? How big was the room enough for two adults and two small children ? I guess we all could fit into a king bed . I wanted to save those points for the PH in Milan

I was thinking maybe I could stay at the Hyatt regency with a stay certificate under my wifes name and she's a diamond maybe they upgrade us and give us lounge access.

If you want to see Paris, you probably won't be spending much time at your hotel at CDG. I would suggest staying somewhere in the city where you might be able to check in early and get a late checkout. That would give you a convenient place for the kids to rest during the day, if needed.

FYI, there is no lounge at either the PH Vendome or HR Madeleine. Is your wife Hyatt Plat (per 1st post) or Diamond? Stay certificate reservations may be difficult to obtain at HR Madeleine; check availability before purchasing.

She is platinum ATM but before we leave I will status match her so she will be diamond. If both hyatts don't have lounge then narrows down to Hilton ADT or the CDG hyatt and use my one my suite upgrades

I'm going solo and am a hotel nerd, so my math was just a bit different for the PH Vendrome...any chance to stay in one of the CN world best's 100 is worth it to me! Diamond's do get free breakfast for two...check out the review thread.
