Paris on the Weekend
 

I am planning a weekend trip to Paris in March, but most of the great restaurants that I really want to eat at all seem to be closed on the weekends (as well as Monday)! Are there any suggestions of good places to eat at that will be open during the weekend?

sunday is a real problem. reservations are very difficult because so few are open. i go through zagat ("S" in a black block) and Michelin red guide. if you are staying at an upper end hotel, the concierge will know who is open. i also sort of the feeling that some restaurants hold reservations for concierges. most hotels restaurants are open on sunday.

a lot are also closed sat night.

there are a lot of "great" in paris, and price varies greatly. what price range?

Use Sunday and Monday for a nice casual dinner at a place like Le Relais de l'Entrecôte

There are tons of great places open Sunday and/or Monday, even if they lack a Michelin Star.

Indeed. Sunday is also a good day to take a run out to the country via train or rented car and have a big lunch in some smaller city or town. Go through the Michelin Red Guide to pick out possibilities.

BE SURE TO RESERVE IN ADVANCE. These places may get very booked even if they are in "deep France" as the saying goes.

And, there's always couscous and numerous bistros.

Sunday lunch in a little town (or on the outskirts of a big city) is one of my favorite things to do all over France and Italy. I've never thought of doing it in/near Paris, though. I'll give it a try next month.

Several small little cafes/bistros were open on Sunday in the Marais district. I had an absolutely delightful noon brunch at Les Philosephes this past Sunday (was highly recommended by several people online).
