Sublets in Paris?

Hi,

I'm a grad student who is studying abroad in Paris and am looking for a sublet option for 3 months (Jan - Mar 2010). I've found the rental market to be difficult, so please help! Any tips? Ideally, I'm looking for a furnished studio or 1 bedroom for < 1000 EUR close to the RER A (arrondissements 1e, 3e, 4e ideally).

Does anyone know of any friends looking to sublet or any sublet services that are not a complete rip off? The vacation-focused brokers seem to be priced more closely to hotels, which I can't afford for 3 months. Thanks!

cheap accommodation solution in Paris -

For students the cheapest solution is often to find a roommate share, especially in large cities like Paris. Doesn't the place where you study provide a list of housing solutions?

You could try someplace like Lodgis or New York Habitat.

If you look on Craigslist or other expat ad sites you can sometimes find what you need, but be very careful: there are tons of scammers out there.

student housing

Yes, if you look at New York Habitat's website (www.nyhabitat.com) you will see they have a section called Academics about student housing (look at their menu on the left handside of their homepage). They also have a blog that is full of good hints and they wrote some articles on how to avoid scams that everyone should read before they look for an apartment rental. Actually, some of the comments to those blog articles are at least as useful as the articles themselves.
