It seemed to me that my donation times went up when I went to two arms :P Though it's been a while, so I could be remembering wrongly.

Changing the variables or the needle stick seem to be beyond the capabilities of the staff at the donation center near me. I've tried giving platelets twice, and failed twice with the puncture site becoming horribly painful.

If they get dual-needle ones, I'll try again. Otherwise, I'll stick to whole blood.

Another pint in the bag. It's surprisingly crowded here today, which is a good thing.

Always a good thing. Sadly, due to deployments and low iron, they do not want my blood.

No puncturing of the veins today, all went smoothly thankfully. - took 40minutes using a single needle machine to process 900mL plasma from 1900mL of blood.

Clearly you need to start hitting the ice cream stand a lot.

Great to everyone who donates; I do, too. Although I am only about 75% of goalie's volume.

Please also consider being a donor. Heck, at that point in life, when they want to take your organs, you don't need them no more! Someone else might! ^

Went to donate today and failed the hematocrit--I guess my new doctor was right that I'm anemic! Just surprising since I've never been so before (and because I've been supplementing for the past few weeks since she told me). Time to rejig the diet a little more and try again in a few weeks.

There's a dengue outbreak where I am at the moment (North Queensland) - which means that they won't be taking in whole blood for at least a month!! That's why it was so quiet yesterday at the blood bank!

Dengue?! Nasty stuff.... Hope the blood bank doesn't run into any shortages as a result.

NY Blood Center just sent me an email that they're devaluing their points program. I'm surprised I haven't seen a thread about it on FT already.
