Gave another lot of blood during the week, so thought I should bump the thread.

Blood Type A+
Been giving blood once a year for the last 4 years, one thing they didn't have this year was the biscuits and cheese. They need to bring them back so I can donate more.

What is handy is the reference on your weight and blood pressure, and both are going up, if only slightly.

I was looking for this thread on the IPhone and couldn't find it fast enough while giving blood, so waited until I got home to post.

That is the downside to traveling and seeing the world.

I haven't been eligible to donate for some time due to restrictions for BSE and malaria, mostly--if it's a malaria risk country, that's a 12-month DQ. And the complete disqualification if you've spent 6+ months total in Europe since 1980 is a rough one, though I've yet to reach that mark.

I wonder if some of the other blood services have less stringent travel eligibility requirements? (These are based on the American Red Cross.)

I'm overdue (but amazingly they haven't been calling - must be because schools are still in session).

Blood Centers of the Pacific is essentially similar. I need to check if Queensland is a malaria-risk area; if it isn't, I'm eligible again now, if it is, not til Sept.

Just gave blood this morning at a blood drive at our office. Drank a half liter of water before donating, one in the canteen, and am halfway through another half liter.
