Lightbulb Need recommendations! (Donating airplane to charity)

Does anyone know and has used a charity to donate a plane with? I have an old Cessna that I am considering donating for the tax deduction, but would love to hear from people who have gone through the process. Any recommended charities?

How about the youth program that introduces young people to flying? Experienced pilots take the kids for a free ride and show them planes. They have camps, rallies, and help Scouts get aviation badges.

It's called "Young Eagles."

The Internal Revenue Service has established standards for charitable contributions. See Charitable Contribution Deductions page on irs.gov, please.

This is years old now, but for the record MAF stands for Mission Aviation Fellowship and is an aviation company that provides medical flights, teachers, doctors e.t.c to remote communities throughout Papua New Guinea, Africa, Asia e.t.c. They do some amazing work in amazing places.

Has anyone here had experience donating an aircraft to charity for a tax deduction? I'm considering donating my old Cessna and would appreciate hearing about your experiences. Are there any recommended charities that facilitate such donations effectively?
