Clearly AY and BA cooperate in schedule planning.

AY has two A350 arrivals in the early morning, one of which (usually) continues to LHR (and currently the other one to DXB twice a week). But what about A330 early morning arrivals? There's a flight from BKK, but isn't that a non-daily seasonal one?

Will we see a more "broken" A330 pattern come March, with the revised JFK schedule and all?

3 from BKK and 3 per week also from KIX arriving 05:40 AM

But LHR AY1337 A333 16:00 can take any morning arrival or China/india afternoon arrival A333.

Okay, well if BKK and KIX alternate, then that solves the problem.

While AY1337 can use one of the early afternoon arrivals, they still need an earlier A330 arrival to be able to send the plane back to Asia in the afternoon since AY1337/8 will only be back for the midnight wave, and even that barely so. With an arrival time of 23:00, they can manage to send it on its way at 00:45, I guess, which is the exact departure time of BKK and KIX.

Nice, these are wonderful times for connecting to many of BA's North American flights! ^

At the moment flying to the USA one has to take the 8.00 flight for any BA connections that depart LHR before 16.40 which makes for a lot of long layovers. This new flight gives much more civilized connections to BA's destinations such as ATL, SEA, IAH, BWI, PIT, MSY, PHX, DEN, DFW, BKK, AMM, BEY that currently have no short connections (<5h) available. Additionally there is now a new midday option to MIA, JFK, ORD, PHL, SFO, LAX plus a lot of others.

On the way back the new flight also connects nicely with US flights arriving between 8.50 and 12.20 (ATL, BWI, PIT, MSY, DEN, YUL, CHS, AUS + additional connections from IAH, YYZ, LAX, SFO, ORD, IAD, BOS, NYC) that otherwise would have to wait for the 16.10 flight to HEL that is almost always very expensive (full?). The new flight also fills a hole created by BA re-timing their 11.20 departure from LHR to 8.25 next summer.

All in all well done AY for reducing my upcoming LHR layovers and another thumbs up for the afternoon A333 service too! ^

it will be interesting to see what happens to premium economy on those 350 and 333 operated flights. I doubt they will sell it as premium economy. It would be nice to think it would be sold as economy and status card holders can get the seats but the seat itself would be better than short haul business class so they could equally sell it as business class (although those in premium economy seats would be a bit jealous of those with the flat bed).

Someone in AY is reading FT.

Finnair is adding capacity on its route between Helsinki and London Heathrow for the summer 2019 season starting on March 31, 2019. Finnair will add a new daily frequency to and from London Heathrow, operated with an A320 family aircraft. Providing good connection opportunities from London with Finnair’s oneworld partners, the new flight will leave Helsinki at 11:40 and the return flight from London will depart at 13:50.

In addition, Finnair will further increase its capacity on the London route by upgauging the 16:00 flight between Helsinki and London, as well as the 18:10 flight from London to Helsinki, with an Airbus A330 wide-body aircraft.

Interesting airline, interesting destination, interesting piece of news.

Currently they have only 3 international destinations, Kathmandu, Sochi and Ko Samui... and no flights at all to or from Jinan. (per Wikipedia)

Tibet is such a sensitive region for China, i doubt they would open up the route to the west.
And Jinan, wow, how random place is that, not even all Chinese knows that place.

Looks like in February AGP has been reverted back to A32x... March still shows A330.
