I'm of course happy that AY finally assigns widebodies to the DXB route. But it should definitely be either-or, the upcoming situation is very confusing for pax. How on earth can AY market something like "crappy five times a week, real J twice a week"? The least they could do now is to discontinue offering Euro-J on narrowbodies to DXB.

The best thing about this, of course, is that you can upgrade yourself to J on a 6+ hour flight for 1 Euro voucher or 10k points.

The A359 is 15–20 minutes faster than an A32B.

And that can be done between HKG/SIN/BKK early morning arrival and HKG/SIN/BKK midnight departure, efficient!

NKG is not a bad substitution as you have semi direct access to HSR all the way to Kunshan in the East, Hangzhou to the South, Wuhan to the West and Xuzhou Northwards. The rail connection between NKG and Nanjing South HSR station is very convenient in this aspect.

Personally I can't think of a single reason to fly to PVG if there is an overseas option from/to either SHA, WUX or NKG.

Yeah, AY route planning department must have been reading my hints here at FT

On a more serious note: Why does AY insist on flying multiple flights to DXB on certain days and no flights on other days, and why wouldn't they convert this to an all-A350 service? Would be so much easier to market and a lot more consistent.

On less than twice daily services, Finnair typically alternates morning and evening services. This is bound to create some imbalance, as there are not an even number of days in a week. Nothing to see here?

Also AY1969/AY1970 cannot be operated by A350 as it would obviously conflict with the schedule of long-haul operations.

I didn‘t see that coming:

Finnair in winter 2018/19 season plans to offer new seasonal route from Kittila, which sees the airline operates Kittila – Tallinn route. On board Airbus A320 aircraft (selected dates by A319), this route will be served once a week on Fridays, from 14DEC18 to 29MAR19.

AY671 KTT0815 – 0955TLL 320 5
AY672 TLL1045 – 1225KTT 320 5
