They have to occupy the TATL market before all the L/H LCC's take it!

Just nice to see the "book with Belavia for 200€" vs. book with Finnair code operated by Belavia for 500€. Worthy points if chasing tiers.

It'll take a while before prices are loaded. It's always the same, they announce new destinations and load the flights, but don't load the prices.

Finnair's long haul network and number of planes is perhaps approaching the limit where they simply cannot book every frame for 24/7 use and need to have a "spare" for irrops and maintenance breaks? It has been too long already that an issue with one frame has lead to a major (often overnight) delay or cancellation.

I am with you 100% on that. I just don't think AY operations sees the need for it. The way they've treated AY69 for sooo many years leads me to think they see overnight delays as a smart solution, not as a problem.

This winter AY has 1 useless A330 and already used to replace A350 going tech.

Let's think positive and believe they will do the J cabin modifications for the 359s

I don't think so. The fares are there, and not that expensive: 164€ for AY vs 148€ for B2. But for some reasons, only Value and Pro fares are available. It looks like Finnair simply does not want to sell Light on that route.

They still need to work on MSQ. You accrue points according to northern Europe (1000 base points) but award flights require 40k.

Schedule:
HEL-MSQ 0945-1100 26
MSQ-HEL 1145-1300 26

It's a rare occurence that both inbound and outbound flights have the same flying time. But why not, HEL and MSQ are almost at the same latitude.

I guess only Value/Pro were allowed on B2 codeshares. So yeah maybe the lack of Light/Basic comes from some hysterical raisins in Finnair IT.

Not AY per se but related:

In june RJ starts 3 weekly (2,4,7) CPH-AMM, offering some new OW options for trips to KUL, HKG and BKK. The route between CPH-AMM will be served by narrowbody, with what I assume is proper SH-J (2+2 46" recliner) config.

RJ114 AMM1040 – 1425CPH 32S 247
RJ115 CPH1515 – 2050AMM 32S 247

Both HKG and KUL sees a lot of traffic but lacks a direct - here RJ will be in direct competition over the 27 000 pax going to HKG via mainly AY and partly SK. The 12 500 pax going to KUL yearly has pretty poor OW options, so they are likely happy too.

OK, I am taking this back... KUL and HKG are 1-stops via BKK so pretty un-attractive.
Especially considering CX is opening a seasonal 3 weekly direct CPH-HKG in may, on a proper A359.
