This is much more agreeable for the HEL-ORD customer who wants to connect onward that's for sure. Although I have to admit I did enjoy the late night departure from ORD, almost never a worry about misconnecting to the over the pond segment, and watching terminal empty out at that hour.

AY10 arriving time in HEL 10:50 is strange. No connections, only silent HEL.

And it looks like MIA will remain as a winter destination.

No AY activity after 22MAR18 nonstop HEL-MIA, MIA-HEL.

Within the 35–120 minute time frame, they do actually serve all the Nordic and Baltic capitals + TXL & GOT.

Today's schedule:
11:30 TXL
11:45 VNO
11:55 TLL
11:55 GOT
12:00 CPH
12:15 ARN
12:15 OSL
12:45 RIX
12:45 BMA

Notably, LED, SVO and WAW are missing, but I think the connections are surprisingly good. Didn't check the outbounds, though, but traditionally JFK has connections from the Nordics and the Baltics, and if this is still the case, then those will serve ORD now, too.

Rescheduling MIA and creating a nice, calm North American wave outside the noodle hours in the late afternoon sounds like a great concept to me. ^

Not that quiet, a few short-shorthauls going out for the noon-"wave"

(oh ffay005 already made that point)

Cathay is starting a HKG-CPH. With SAS flying the ARN-HKG route, it´s getting pretty crowded out there.

It's a seasonal service three days a week from 2 May to 12 October, 2018 on A350. Anyway, more competition is great news for us travelers .

This will mean there will be a CPH-CAN with one stop in winter too. And as CX is an airline that offers to bring bags to final destination there is no reason to fly Finnair for this route.

Thank you Cathay !!!

As I have been traveling to the Midwest area the late departure at 10pm has been perfect. You got a full day of work before taking the 2,5h drive to the airport....

We might see very competetive pricing to HKG ex-GOT, HAM, OSL and the rest of the Baltic Sea basin.

If BA would not send the 747 (love it but the interiors are just too dated at this point at least in Y+) and just stick to the 380 I'd be happy. I haven't been on AA's 777s. How do they compare to AY in Y or Y+?

Thanks!

It is going to be summer-seasonal so no new choice for CAN in the winter.
