Once a week is all you got until HK stops these random flight suspensions. AY is not the only one, pretty much every airline who still fly to HK is only doing it once a week.

For a while KL was the only European airline, and flying once weekly. Then LX/LH restarted. LH is trying 5 weekly.
The restrictions for crews has been eased somewhat. And the current flight suspension is only 5 days, so that a weekly flight is not at suspension risk.
Let's hope AY does restart, although it is a very long route if no technical stop.

It seems they are selling tickets again to the morning HEL-AMS, at least for the August date I’m looking for. Now I just need to think about how to get back.

Let's see when HKG finally properly opens up. Not sure though if we'll ever see again the double dailies there...

Was HKG cancelled in June 2022? In May I still had a ticket with first leg AY HEL-HKG, but since the onwards legs got cancelled I scrapped the entire trip. At that time the AY flight wasn't cancelled. Edit: my memory might be failing me. Definitely in Jan22 at least AY was selling HEL-HKG.

My HEL-OSL on August 4th was cancelled. There is also no morning flight on the 5th. All I get are options via various airports to TRF. It will be interesting to see what Egencia suggests to me. I cannot fly before 2pm on the 4th, and I have to be in Oslo at 9am on the 5th. The 5.35 via RIX does not sound too appealing...

I wonder what is going on with OSL in general? It seems the best flights for business purposes (i.e. mornings from HEL) are often cancelled. Yet, my experience is that the OSL flights are very full. And expensive.

What is going on now with Finnair? Now they cancelled my Aug 2nd CPH-HEL, rebooking me to a much earlier flight which I can't make. Is there an A320 out of service, crew shortage or what?

I had crew shortage (as confirmed by CS) on Jun 30th, when they cancelled ZRH-HEL about 5 hours before departure. They rebooked us for Jul 2nd and I had to intervene this is not working, I need to be in HEL earlier and suggested connecting flights via another EU-airport. CS called back and worked something out for Jul 1st.
Let's see how the compensation handling is going to be...

Is AY running out of planes and homebase crew. Two A321's are going to Eurowings Discover from August (wetlease), so now two A321's in UK, two in Germany, besides the two A350's....

And how many are still in storage or sold?

Not running out of planes and AY can lease cheap labour companies to operate AY flights like LIS.
