Changing outbound with upgrade on return

I have tickets that in looking at changing outbound. Issue is ive already cleared upgrade on the return HEL-DFW flight. Will I need to reclear the upgrade even though not changing those flights? Some airlines, yes, some no. Not sure how AY does it.

I've done this only once and pre-covid, but at that time there was no need to reclear the upgrade on the other flight on the ticket.

Your upgrade should be fine as you are not changing that flight.

TY. I'm more of a DL FF and theucwould require new availability in order to switch the outbound. (If was just changing the return they would let keep upgrade on outbound. When doing the reverse though the whole ticket has to be redone. )

In this particular, I would be more worried about the IT system not allowing modifications without going through the customer service. As long as you don't change the upgraded flight itself and change the other flight within (NVA/NVB) allowed dates, the upgrade should be safe.

No issues when calling in. Agent did have to manually redo the upgrade. It went away when ticket was repriced. However he said since wasn't changing that flight didn't need to wait for U again, could put me back in.

What happened with this? Did you need to fork out more Adios?

No additional Avios. I was told since wasn't changing the type of award, it was fine.

If I understand correctly, you tried to change the departure airport? I tried to change the arrival airport and was told I would have to pay the difference in fees and points...

I did have to pay difference in fees between airports. However otherwise I was told as long as kept the same award type, no worries about miles. This was a DFW-HEL-LHR award changed to ORD-HEL-LHR.
