I feel so hungry
On AY141
a small meal was served after take off - and the only snacks available are granola bars, Haribo and chocolates. Seriously? Most other airlines would have sandwiches, cup noodles and even cooked to order snacks during the flight.
who designs AY’s service and why? There isn’t even a good chance to buy something at HEL - most places are closed in the non-Schengen zone.
starved.

If you are in J, ask for sandwiches. They will have some on board even though they aren't very good. They will also have fresh fruit and can make a fruit salad for you. Cup noodles are available in Y, ask for those.

I flew AY 141 in J yesterday. The meal was decent and filling and when I was at the airport, BK, Nordic Kitchen, Jamie's Deli and Moomin Cafe were all open before the flight. If not more.
Edit: Looked it up. All of the restaurants in the NS side should have been open at 12. Ajisen Ramen, Asian Street Cooking and Two Tigers all open at 11

On a related note, I have a DOH-HEL flight in Y coming up next month. Anyone know what can I expect on board? AY's website says that only 1 meal is served on Dubai flights, but makes no mention of Doha flights...

the portion of AY meals are not sufficient
cost cutting too serious
last time I took AY99, it is slightly better,
but I have eaten some fastfood in my origin airport, and then you know at 11pm in HEL is empty, most of the shops are closed
so no spending in HEL airport
