HEL-DOH AY1981 16:00-23:45 333 16DEC22-
DOH-HEL AY1982 08:00-14:15 333 17DEC22-

ARN-DOH AY1983 15:10-23:50 333 01NOV22-
DOH-ARN AY1984 08:10-13:25 333 02NOV22-

CPH-DOH AY1985 15:15-23:30 333 01NOV22-
DOH-CPH AY1986 08:15-13:10 333 02NOV22-

Flights are considered long-haul (AY+ awards & accrual as well as complimentary meals in all classes of travel).

AY and QR both have set quotas and specifically allocated seats on board. At least on the ARN service, the AY quota in J is 7 seats (1L, 2DHL, 3DHL) and the Y quota is 61 seats (31–36 DEGHJL, 59JL, 61–63DEGHJL.

The PE cabin is not sold by either airline. The PE seats belong to the QR quota and can be assigned to QR Y pax at no extra charge.

Transferring at DOH, you will have access to the following lounges when departing on AY or QR, in descending order:
1. Al Safwa, for QR customers ticketed in F. Close to the bear
2. Al Mourjan lounges, for AY & QR customers ticketed in J (J Light not eligible). Al Mourjan South is close to the bear (escalator up right next to the escalator coming down from transfer security). Al Mourjan North (Al Mourjan Garden) entrance is located between the northern stop of the intra-terminal train and The Orchard. Al Mourjan North lounge is twice as big as Al Mourjan South and has views over The Orchard.
3. Qatar Airways Platinum & Gold Lounge North, for Golds, Platinums and Lumos regardless of class of travel. This lounge is a shared Platinum & Gold lounge. Entrance near gate C14
4. Qatar Airways Platinum Lounge South, for Platinums and Lumos regardless of class of travel. At gate A1.
5. Qatar Airways Gold Lounge South, for Golds, Platinums and Lumos regardless of class of travel. At gate A1 (shared entrance with the Platinum Lounge South)

All lounges operate 24/7.

Well I bet this route will be heavily eyed by idiots for idiotic purposes 😄

Wonder why they all start in November... except for HEL not starting until the day before the World Cup final?!

Judging by how they did KUL and JFK, it won't be bookable until QR rebook all the existing pax on QR-operated flights that will subsequently be cancelled

As almost everything is specualtion at this time, I have a few thoughts:

Is this a part of AY new strategy? Saving some of the marketing investement in "asia strategy", as a feeder airline to QR? Is QR / IAG coming onboard as owner or influencial partner?

What will this mean for destinations where DOH actually makes a lot of sense, like Australasia? Where Finnair currently offers connections i SEA on both OW partners and LCC operators. Maybe this is a market segment they don't care about - the current pricing indicates indifference to the route - but if they do and they are cancelling most of SEA destinations, this could be a positive change for QR (and a negative one for CX and QF).
However, only for Nordic origin traffic. On the total, a loss as northern continental europe for whom HEL-HKG-SYD is a very good route, would either go on real QR-planes to DOH or find other airlines altogether.

As QR once again operates first on some routes, this will be a great opportunity for Finnair to sell their "premium class tickets, seated in economy". I'm sure someone in revenue management is drawing up the plans to sell HEL-DOH in PE and DOH-SYD in Y, pricing it using ticket type "First classic - our most popular choice"

or they oversell y and a few people get lucky

Ba has a similar issue on its lhr-doh and it seems pe is mostly empty or upgrades

AFAIU, flights to DOH are all on A330. Though with "new cabin".

What is the lounge policy at DOH for pax who are on non-QR OW flights? Eg. AY DOH-HEL in J? Are you limited to the Business Class lounge?

All OW Business Class passengers (except QR Business Lite) are eligible for Al Mourjan.

There is no Business Class lounge in DOH anymore. The old Business and First Class lounges have been replaced by Gold and Platinum lounges. At least the Platinum lounge is quite ok, though small compared to the number of guests (but there should be another one in the new northern expansion that is due to open later this year).

But anyway, the transfers, especially the security, are as fluent as they can be. HEL would have lots to learn about!

I was in Al Mourjan last week on a Tokyo to Copenhagen connection, while still busy for the morning departure bank, getting Platinum Lounge open does seem to have eased the congestion, so it had gone from the usual chaos to just plain busy. The airport itself was heaving and crazily busy.
I'll soon see the evening bank effect when going in the other direction.

The horror happened, QR159/160 DOH/CPH became the Finnair flights. Time to look at new ways to fly between Tokyo and Copenhagen, I had gotten so used to the trips via Doha. But I am not going for a 6 hour Euro J service on Finnair instead of the Qatar service.
