Their renewed 330 -fleet is too thin for current rotations.
Let add here, 03JUN CNL.

Surely, they’ll most likely re-route you via JFK if schedules work or then AA/AY combo via central Europe/LHR

AA to LHR at 19.05 is wide open so good option to re-route status/J pax on that..would be my guess..and then continue with AY 359 to HEL tomorrow

Interesting..yeah Amadeus still has it going..but so does the BA codeshare HEL-ORD.

It’s early in the day on that side of the pond but if I were you I’d be prepared for irrops flight change.

They of course have one option, cancel JFK-ARN (combine pax into AY6) and move that plane to ORD for the HEL flight. AY30 has been zeroed out so might well be in the works as we chat..

I was so excited that asked them to re-route via JFK. Unfortunately connection is via EWR, but hopefully doable.

Of course it would be great if they would find the plane to ORD, but better play safe here.

I was looking at that, I don’t know, on direct search it’s not zeroed, you’re correct.

Pls report back what they offer in case and how you found such negotiations.
One thing namely I wish here we are lacking data points on irrops and other flight change options jow handled, what got, etc.
EK and QR used to have such great rebookings etc during covid but some of them vlosed by now. AY has been the worst IME what comes to irrops, rebookings, ec261.

Wouldn't they be able to fly DFW/LAX/(JFK)-ORD-HEL, ie make an extra stop at ORD?

Well now they have cancelled the return from ORD as well..it’s pathetic that WA CS denied that few hours ago as obviously no AY plane was heading to ORD today..

Isn't it quite typical that before the airline operations have officially cancelled the flight, the front line staff know nothing about it. The same applies to delays.

Ouch, I can understand your frustration. Sometimes I wonder if they just don't know, or if they are deliberately misinforming...

They don't know and they don't care.

For us who travel, it is routine procedure to check at an outstation if the plane is en route and on schedule. But CS doesn't do that. For them, the plane operates as scheduled even if we can tell them it is impossible.
