I think by now a business class, where not everyone has direct isle access is not exactly competitive, so they had to update their A330 J cabin. To be seen, whether it is for the better or worse, when it comes to actual usage.

This seems to be the choice of everyone who has PE on 330.
AF, LH, IB, CX to name few.

The Nordic colleagues over at SK has 8 rows on their A330.

Lufthansa has 4 rows on the current iteration of the A330.

But yeah, 3 rows does seem popular.

I did wonder when I saw this, as in the Q3 presentation AY highlighting themselves as mainly a leisure driven carrier, I would have thought more premium economy rows would be logical.

Maybe AY is doing 3 rows to test the waters and then expand when they see how the concept works for them?

Or maybe by not having to move the existing bulkhead between mini J cabin and Y makes it a cheaper refit? Was reading some posts up threat suggesting that they are fitting the PY section on that space.

So, if both 350 and 330 cabin is changing, how would it happen? 330's naturally are already fitted but does this type of retrofit require trip to Toulouse? Has any 350s flow there I.e. will the new cabin be promiseware for 22 or actually materializing quickly after launch per route.

And the load factor is very high in PE despite 8rows on SAS planes. Not everybody is a biz flyer but when I listen to folks here and there, it sounds like business flying basic policy in Finland is economy and you may argue up yourself to PE or even business, but is Sweden the travel policy in companies typically starts from PE and oftentimes even J.
Correction: the basic setup in Finland has become no business travel at all, everything now remote. No wonder why then these talks about swedes excel in sales&marketing but finns are struggling…here is one factor…

There are any number of providers who could do the refit, I doubt Airbus is among the companies offering cabin refits. But yeah, the planes would probably need to head somewhere. The last cabin refit for SK was done with Lufthansa Technic in Malta I think. Though I could have a feeling oliver2002 would be able to tell us more on the location of SK and maybe Finnair.

OH-LWD arrived today from HKG, flown there in NOV21 and has new seat chart.

And OH-LWM left to HKG.

In HKG already OH-LTO and OH-LTP.

There are a number of shops in Europe/Asia that could do a A359 or A330 retrofit (LHT in MLA/MNL, SR in ZRH, SN in BOD, EY in AUH, RJ in AMM, SQ in SIN etc). If they have time. Winter is usually the busiest, as MRO hangars are booked for the longer C and D checks while business is slow. My guess is AY will do these during the summer months when the A330 fleet has to go in for checks anyway after the long storage. I doubt they will touch the A359 fleet unless there are some other reasons.

I've understood that the whole widebody fleet will be fitted with PE.

Sure, I meant retrofit of the business class. PE is relatively easier, can be done once the STC is ready and the shop certified.
