HBO - 7KG Allowance!

I've snagged a great deal with Finnair in hand baggage only "Economy Light" class, flying DUB to HEL, and then HEL to LAX.

I'm BA Gold (OneWorld Emerald) what are my chances of getting away with taking my Away Metal Larger carryon - 57.7 cm x 37.3 cm x 24.3 cm when the Finnair policy is 55 cm x 40 cm x 23 cm and only 7KG. Weight wise I'd expect my case to be around the 12kg to 15kg mark.

I'm kinda hoping that if I put by BA status bag tag on that might discourage them for insisting on it being checked in and charging me for the
privilege.

Any experience / thoughts on how strict Finnair tend to be?

I can't answer on carry on limits but as BA Gold you have 1 bag checked bag even on Light fare, should that be an option.

Dunno about DUB, but at least in HEL they very rarely check the weight, especially if you are in priority groups (you should be due to OWE).

Nowhere as far as I know.

Limit is one bag plus one personal item for coach, total 8kg, J gets two carry-ons and a personal item for a generous combined 10kg allowance. Gotta love the large volume but barely any weight.

7 KG is weird. AY Eco Light has 8 KG hand luggage limit.

Sorry you are correct it's 8KG, not 7KG, but still too little! haha, But thank you everyone for your advice, sounds like I should get the the free checked Allowance if I need it, but Finnair are unlikely to challenge me.
