Did AY fire their Asian crews in the pandemic? Or perhaps Airpro will just get those?

Why would ARN be any better off than HEL though? I'd think the main problem is the absence or impracticality of Thailand governmental plans, not a different between Finland and Sweden, no?

The Finnish government likes to keep the border closed. If things open up in Thailand it's probably easier to fly from ARN.

For Finns borders are open all the time and HEL transit is not affected by Finland's covid border control.

Plus it should b easier to Fill planes there too I would imagine 😂 Swedes love Thailand too and SK doesn't fly there and now DY doesn't either, it will remain to be seen if TG returns or what happens there...

Transit to what? AY to HEL, BA to LHR and IB to MAD and then what? AY's shorthaul network is HEL-based, so AY can't offer a lot of connections at ARN, except to those three airports and maybe also with a not-so-simple ARN-BMA transfer to TF's domestic flights. Oh, and AY could offer BKK-ARN-DOH for the milage runners.

Tour operators buy significant blocks on these flights so I suppose with the demise of TC, AY managed to secure the tender for that.

Let's hope these flights materialise. The HKT sandbox isn't going particularly well. They have about 400 int'l pax arriving daily (including non-tourists) and are eager to quarantine pax who have come even in remote contact with positive cases. Apparently they also have some kind of an evening name-call at hotels to see that pax haven't fled. Sounds like a prison with palm trees to me. (Source: I read various articles from The Thaiger yesterday...)

As Topi told today AY is replacing Norwegian in ARN by flying these long hauls.
