Surprised they are going ahead with change now. Would have made sense to delay the timing given the market turmoil which looks to be lasting for some time.

They could just put them into effect without no further ado and then have the "look what a great thing we did making your J seat chargeable" campaign only when things start to ease off.

And all types will earn 1,0 qualifying segment, while no changes are coming to tier qualification?

Together with changes a few years ago where segment qualification was lowered but points requirement was kept, I for one feel enforced in my view of the program is catering to the commuters.
Give yourself to the dark side and become a segmenter

Cistavoda and I always said we would qualify on segments (in J of course) as soon as that euro-jackpot thing pays off.

Nuff said. Eurojackpot counts well for 146000 J segments.

So this basicliy means you need to do one more LH flight to Asia to keep the status going. And in the moment no chances to really buy tickets according to the old rules.

For me as a German I guess I m going back to M&M after all this years since the SEN will be equal easy - and I have chances of using points for upgrades to F or even get op-ups.

Maybe wait and see how Business Classic (R) will be priced.

Since no one will fly for a while I ll guess we see the prices - but I doubt that they lower the prices of discounted Business tickets - maybe the tickets in 2020 will be cheap - but in the near future they will go up - I guess thats the idea.

They have a lot of leisure flyers in J class to Asia - they don t care too much about points or status - itīs just one or two holiday trips a year.

What do you mean? I just bought a ticket for BKK a few days ago. Flying in September. Now is the time to plan your autumn and winter trips.

Quite a gamble as you can't know for how long travel is going to be restricted.
