The cabin crew were all wearing protective face masks, felt like I was in a hospital
Sounds scary, both the empty plane and the masks !

When the going gets tough, the tough get (mileage) running. Prepare for some seriously low prices to China in the coming months

That's nothing. Wait 'til you read about scenes from domestic flights.
Easiest way to get someone kicked off a plane:
"I heard they spoke Wuhan dialect and they said they take medicine to mask the fever"

Unfortunately, it wouldn’t surprise me to see various forms of misbehavior related to this breakout.

Mischievous people should keep in mind the following when they hear people speaking with some Upper Midwest American accent who they want denied travel: 11 people this winter have died of complications from less novel flus in a primarily rural Midwest state in the US whose population is only a couple hundred thousand different from Finland’s. Flu-related deaths take place even where this Wuhan coronavirus is not (yet) reported to have hit.

Finnair is temporarily halting some of its China service. It may be two routes for now, but I expect it will turn out to be more.

XIY cannot be suspended at this point because it's summer-seasonal. I suppose CAN could be suspended, but the remaining PEK, PVG and HKG routes are far more likely to see reduced frequencies over plain suspension.

Scheduled on a CAN MR in June. Guess I will have to watch this space to see if they suspend the route and/or waiver policy if this is still going on this summer.

Hong Kong already cut off most piblic transportation link with mainland China starting fr Jan 30th (railway, flight, ferry suspended and no personal / group entry visa for mainlander). Under this condition, CAN route might still remain for a while since southern China has no departure point for finnair except Shanghai (more central China located that 2.5hrs flight from CAN)

There are also health authorities reports that say the corona is not really critically worse than the seasons flu every year here. some even claim it is just similar. Corona overestimated then? I am not a doctor...
