Just short domestic and European hops this year. Renewed AY+ Gold but was too lazy to obtain the Plat. Let there be more and longer flights in 2019. Maybe some shine of platinum as well.

And today's AY102 was the final flight of the year (BTW an excellent flight which was super empty and guaranteed a very nice service in J!), so the statistics are in:
Total flights: 259, of which domestic 92.
Total mileage flown: 171 264
Carriers: 52 (no way I'm going to list them)
Airports: 82 (top 3: HEL, OUL, ARN)
Countries: 29
This was my best ever flying year, mostly because of the Lumo madness - 2017 I had 240 segments so managed to even improve on that.

A little bit down on segments compared to last couple of years but still a nice travelling year. ^ Managed to renew BA Gold and LH Silver, but next year have to change *A program to OZ as would have earned Gold there already this year. Nice surprise to log HEM airport for the first time before it's gone!

Me, too. NT NKC-LPA, or to open it up a bit, Binter Canarias from Nouakchott to Las Palmas. Last time I was in NKC in 2003, I booked the hotel over the phone with a travel agent and since she had never heard of Nouakchott and didn't know how to pronounce it, she preferred to talk about N-K-C. Fine with me!
I'll have to wait until I get to HEL to go through my flights, but NKC is probably as exotic as it gets this year. When AT joins OW, maybe we'll have a DO at NKC and be the surprise of the year, no the century, for the visa issuers. (You get the visa at the airport nowadays, and it took a while for them to understand that I was actually a tourist and didn't have a company contact in Mauritania...)

Welcome to FT, UNC!
Now that you're an FTer, surely you'll do a nice midsummer MR if needed to ensure requalifying.
I think this is great proof of how the Platsku Gold-gift-benefit is not just a nice gesture and good PR, but a wise commercial decision from AY, too. They won you over, and probably many more.

Since my tracking period is almost the same as the calendar year, I'm gonna wrap up a little differently: in the beginning of 2018 I got a gold card from a good platsku friend. This totally changed my way of traveling. Previously I bought the cheapest flights available and thus used a lot of Norwegian. After the gold, I've done only one trip with Norwegian and 25 legs with AY...

Reminds me of speaking to a japanese agent over the phone. I mistakenly said I wanted to go to "KICKS" and she immediately replied "Osaka Kansai".
Now where is that thread where we wallow on the un-nessecity of knowing IATA codes by heart?
