The following AY short and middle haul flights are currently operated by widebodies:
AY1331/1332 HEL-LHR-HEL, A359, D
AY1337/1338 HEL-LHR-HEL, A333, D

AY1541/1542 HEL-BRU-HEL A359/A333 3 6

AY1961/1962 HEL-DXB-HEL, A359, 5(starting from 01NOV19) 7(starting from 17NOV19) until 17APR20
AY1961/1962 HEL-DXB-HEL, A359, 57, starting 30OCT20

As a rule, service will be the usual AY shorthaul concept both in Y and J, with the exception of IFE (available free of charge to all, with cheap in-ear headphones provided in J and Y) and internet (longhaul rules apply, ie Plats get free wifi for the duration of the flight, Golds and J get one hour). Y+ seats are sold as extra legroom seats with no special service, but cannot be chosen free of charge unless you're Plat or Lumo.

DXB is an exception, see https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/finn...dubai-dxb.html for details.

Historical service:
AY1671/1672 HEL-AGP-HEL, A330, 57, 05DEC18-06JAN19 & 17FEB19-29MAR19
AY1961/1962 HEL-DXB-HEL, A350, 57, until 29MAR19
AY1541/1542 HEL-BRU-HEL A330, 3 6(until 04MAY19)

AFAIK any non-EU citizen/ third country citizen who has valid visa/residence permit/permanent residency/green card/whatever to Schengen/UK/US/ AUS do not need visa for airside transit through UK.

Any non-EU citizen starting journey in OUL will have any form of those permits.

It seems you are right, both physical residency cards and schengen visas are now on the exemptions list. DId this change of lately?

You should apply for a Direct Airside Transit visa if you arrive in the UK on a flight and leave again without passing through immigration control.

Exemptions

You don’t need a visa if you have one of the following:
...
a common format residence permit issued by an European Economic Area (EEA) country or Switzerland
...
a uniform format category D visa for entry into a country in the European Economic Area (EEA) or Switzerland
...

E-visas or e-residence permits are not acceptable unless your airline is able to verify it with the issuing country. Contact your airline for more information.

Worth noting that the exemption still says Schengen D visa, which is not all that common.

I do not see any changes in this regarding ID cards or visas, it has been like this for many years.

OK, I recall distinctly being advised by UKBA to apply for direct airside transit visa for some non-EU passport holder ≈5 years ago and they chose another route instead.

Anyway, it seems those of us who thought we knew about the transit visa requirements do not know it well enough IRL! This ends today's OT'ing for me!

Yes, no problems at all with that. And by using the self-service bag drop your visa (or whatever, e.g. eligibility for TWOV in China) won't be checked before the gate.

At the gate you will get the "unable to board" beep if your visa hasn't been checked before. Then the agent will check it.

A330 European routes

Hi, does anyone know if Finnair plans on flying the A330 to Málaga (AGP) this coming Christmas, like they did last year. Or to any other destinations in Spain, for that matter. Thanks!

Friend got a message that AY1342 on 15.9. would be switched to A350, the app seems to show A350 and A321 randomly.

"Email or maybe app". There was also instant upgrade availability and he got a points upgrade. Now it seems that the app shows 321 again. Looks like they don't know what they'll be flying.

I'm interested this too because I need something for that day and LHR is one option.

1342 A350 would be perfect. AY1337 to LHR, Angus Beef Burger + homemade chips and Asahi and then AY1342 to HEL
