I did. Last night, the "other department" was already closed, and agent A promised to check back in the morning and contact me before 10 am. But at around 3:30 am, the reservation got auto-cancelled and A never contacted me. I called and talked to agent B, who promised to check and call back. She did, but could not get the ticket confirmed. She sounded competent, though.

Checking random dates, A359 flights to DXB seem to be available in November 2020, too. Didn't check all dates but it seems it's the same Fri/Sun pattern.

Here are my J experiences from today's AY1961 with A321, departing 08:05. I was hoping a similar concept above, but unfortunately this did not happen (no lunch served). Breakfast was served in the first part of the flights (had it already in the lounge) and then they also offered sandwich toward end of the flight and some mid-flight Fazer chocolates. Wifi did not have connective as the route went all the time thru areas where no satellite connection were available.
Last year, it was ciabatta after take-off and lunch before landing, which was a very unconventional concept, but a very well thought-out one.
If anyone has a menu from the DXB route this season, I'd be grateful for that, too. It's not available on AY.com. Will be flying late this month.

The same ghastly röstibreakfast as on other European routes.
Ciabatta before landing, meh.
Morning return AY1970 (A321) Dec 2019.
”Breakfast” after departure.
Lunch before arrival to HEL. Planefoodwise this was the highlight of the journey and quality somewhat what one would expect on a flight of this length.
Btw. I heard that AY1962 DXB-HEL on A350 gets 3-course lunch after take-off and some kind of sandwich before arrival into HEL.
Also, I was told that A350s are through-catered at HEL but for A321s there is a catering uplift at DXB for the return flight.

AY1962 (A350) in Dec 2019:
Starter: Celeriac and Wästerbotten cheese with truffle vinaigrette
Main courses:
-Seared cod fillet with lobster sauce and fennel risotto
-Grilled chicken fillet with apple sauce and potato gratin, chantarelles and Brussels sprouts
-Ricotta cheese filled tortellini in creamy cheese sauce with oyster mushrooms and fava beans
Dessert: Chocolate-nougat cake
Pre-arrvival: Oat seed roll with fresh cheese and pepper
On AY1961 they first gave us LH wine list but it was collected shortly after this.

Thank you so much, Esledo and AY005!
I guess I have to lower my expectations food-wise (and drink-wise, too, but in my case that's okay since I don't care much about wines).
But there's still an amenity kit, I suppose? From Esledo's pics, I can see that longhaul bedding is available ^

Indeed also on my AY1961 l/h wine list was predistributed at seat but it was quickly perished by the purser when I enquired which list is the correct one.

I've been thinking this would be a good solution. I didn't check whether there's a 0:45 departure on Saturday morning or not, but if yes, that departure shouldn't be delayed by more than an hour perhaps (or AY might have spares, I believe they don't use the A330s quite as efficiently as the A350s).

BKK 00:45 is daily A333 and one A333 coming from LHR AY1338 and can leave to BKK. So DXB AY1962 delay is not causing more troubles.
