Quick Question on Fare types...

In addition to my Platsku run post earlier, what should I chose for Ticket type and Fare Basis with these Codes:

1) VKW7C5M4 and,
2) MKW0C8M4

to get the total miles calculated as I can not see if it's Value, Light or something third according to the instructions I received in the post from earlier?

If there is a ticket type, it's embedded into the fare basis. Here, it isn't, so only the booking code matters.

Where are you flying? If it's the US, only the first letter (booking code) matters anyway. You can use the calculator. Most fares are 50 %.

Thanks a mill ffay005 for the breakdown.

Yes, ORD bound flight so V and M booking class. My platsku status reach is confirmed towards the end of the month.

This said, I never really aimed for AY Plat and only done one LH AY flight during my accrual period so nice surprise indeed.

Transatlantic fare codes are defined by the joint venture, not Finnair. For earnings, only the booking code matters as noted by ffay005

Does anyone know, how does AY premium economy fares earn? AY marketed, BA operated. Booking class E which is not listed anywhere.

Kilometre-based codeshare table for flights without a ticket type (AY2501–AY7000)
[...]
Economy K, M, P, T, W, E 100%

AY-coded premium economy earns 100% of kilometerage plus tier bonus.

Ok, but how does for example AY1333 (HEL-LHR) in E class credit? When booking HEL-LHR-DFW, all legs are in E class. LHR-DFW is in codeshare range, but not HEL-LHR. Or is this one of those "dont do it" -things?

Are you sure? In the matrix I see only booking class Y in your case on SH. And that earns 3000 points.

Actually, it's quite interesting. Fare basis is EL..., but booked flight shows Economy (K). Which is quite interesting considering that connecting flight is in Premium Economy (E)

I don't think it can book into E, as E is staff travel on AY.

But is there now an issue? There is simply no PE on AY. K earns 100%, the same percentage as E on the other flight. So everything looks good.

Yes, no bigger issue. Just interesting how fare basis ELxxxx becomes K. This is the first time that first letter of the fare basis is NOT the booking class.

That happens a lot of time when the ticketing carrier and the marketing carrier differ. It also obviously occurs when upgrading a segment into F class.
