Gifting AY Gold

Now that there seems to be an increasingly higher number of Plats and Golds, has anyone heard of somebody putting their AY Gold gift up for sale?

Or is it restricted to close family or can you gift it to whoever you want?

I read this so that AY can simply close your account if they notice that you sold your AY+ Gold gift.

I don't read this as a ban against gifting the Gold card and receiving something in return. The Gold gift is not a flight ticket, nor is it a voucher. However, the terms say "such as", indicating that AY may include whatever they like here.

However, reading this, I wonder if all those online upgrades that have been discussed a lot here are actually against the T&C. You know, where people upgrade friends and not family members. Or did they change that part of the T&C?

I would not be sure about the original premise of "increasingly higher numbers of Plat" - do we have any supporting data?

To the main question - it doesn't seem to be restricted to family. (OTOH it's quite an interesting thing what a commercial entity may or may not deem to be "family" these days without being charged with discrimination? Subject for another discussion)

Having said that, should one would put an announcement on huuto.net or similar, I wouldn't be surprised if AY would at least investigate.

When the gifting game began I saw one in huuto.net. Starting price was 450€ AFAIR. There's currently one looking to buy a gold card in tori.fi. I've also "sold" mine to friends with some mutual agreement on returning the favor (and using the 4SH vouchers myself).

All right let's close this. Thanx to all who participated.

I got 12 contacts:
3 were AY Basics
3 were AY Silvers
2 valued their wives
2 valued dad
1 valued mom
1 valued friend

AY Gold goes to one of those Silvers. This person just reached first AY Silver and had some personal issues that I appreciate and I can imagine this person will enjoy all perks that a new Gold card gives.

I wish Golden flights!

And now one card is for sale in huuto.net but sale is closed by operator.

I don't see how, other than AY doing an undercover purchase when they can see the originating account. Otherwise they can (try?) to shut down the deal with huuto.net (exactly on what grounds? AY+ T&C doesn't concern third parties) but how would they identify the perp?

Thankfully there seems to be very few open offers - otherwise AY might just take the perk away.
