I think you should be able to get into the lounge during the overlap period of the gold/plat card.

That will change together with your status as shown online, not following the card validity.

The 2 month add. validity is there to make sure new card, whatever level, arrives before expiry date.

Yes.

200k tier points = 40k bonus
300k tier points = 60k bonus
400k tier points = 100k bonus

This got me thinking that, if one doesn´t re-qualify to Gold, you will lose the access to AY lounge immidiately after the tracking period ends, BUT if you have a DC AY Gold card, you are able to access DC lounges for free until your DC card expires, correct?

Is there a softlanding from Gold to silver?

There is soft landing, whether official or not, several of us confiremd it here.

I don't know what's printed on the plain memebership card, but if memory serves right, it also has 2 months grace period. It means that you can use those services, where it's enough to show the card (prio checkin, lounge) but no points, etc perks. Prio secu these days is printed on the bp, so probably it's also out.

I need 3500 tier points to get to silver tier and have 3 months to do it but no flights planned for end of the year or next 3 months of the tracking period . I can convert my award points for this and become a silver member now but if I do it now how long will the silver tier last for 3 months or 12 months ? Should I convert at the end of the tracking period, then it would last a year ?

AFAIK it will be until of your existing tracking period plus the next 12 months.

When "climbing up the ladder" (ie acquiring a higher tier) the new tier is valid for the rest of current tracking period plus the next full tracking period. Thus there is no need to wait until end of tracking period.
