Finally 777 to AY

Finally AY flies with Boeing wide body:

From 07DEC to 23DEC HEL-JFK is operated by 777 (PVG)

FINNAIR LEASES AN AIRCRAFT FOR NEW YORK ROUTE FROM 7 TO 23 DECEMBER

Due to the changes in the A350 delivery schedules, Finnair will use an aircraft and crew leased from Spanish airline Privilege Style on the Helsinki - New York (JFK) route from 7 to 23 December, 2015.

Hmm... Given that Privilege Style has only one 777, it must be this one:

Not sure I'd be fully happy with the change. Probably I'd ask for the re-routing with another OW carrier, but maybe that is just me.

Had the pleasure(?) to fly that in May when AY was wet leasing it for the HEL-JFK route. The 2-3-2 layout for the Y+ (Economy comfort while running AY flights) on the LOT B787 is one of the stupidest I've seen... In Y+ the screens are all in the armrest of the seat and this makes it quite a big exercise for the one sitting in the "middle of the middle" section to get out, and go to the lavatories, etc.

You can always fly boring Airbus. Now In December AY is offering something else from B-factory.

Oh, those powerful machines for shorthauls and with exit seat. ^

BTW, this 777 wet lease could be sign of OH-LQG is still leaving In December. Two thumbs for that ^ ^

a 'Top-notch' bird: "Rank for the age by aircraft type:" On 70 airlines operating this type of aircraft Privilege Style ranks 57.

Unless you really need the AY points just re-book asap.

But then again, since the NA JV, it is almost impossible getting decent AY points w/ AY marketed flights (unless flying J). You are better off taking an AA marketed one...

What does PVG mean?
I know its Shanghai, but obviously it has a different meaning here.

Does anyone know what kind of seats does this carrier have. I think it is a former Asiana plane, at least the number of C seats is the same (28). Are they flat, angled flat or craddle style?

Their own website says they will fly this plane from December and it will be
"1 x Boeing 777-200ER, con capacidad para 299 pasajeros"
which is the exact same number of "pasajeros" it took when it was an Asiana bird. So we only need to find out how it looked before it was handed over from Asiana.
