Or the US FWIW. At FRA US flights normally arrive at concourse Z bypassing the transit security but go figure we parked at B and that lead us going thru security again which was even worse than MIA (which is saying a lot).

Vow, they might be doing well! But TK is also two dailies, so there is a market.
I wonder to what destinations people fly with them mainly - Asia, Africa, M-East? The Americas would seem such a detour, that I don't think masses of ex-HEL pax fly them there. Also, to Asian destinations that AY also serves, I'd be reluctant to go via DOH, except if the price is right If I'd need a connection in Asia, than a HEL-DOH-xxx might be competitive with HEL-yyy-xxx, though.

Agree, although if you're fine with connecting in SA BA is another good choice. Also for India there are connections, and the only decent choices to Kathmandu from the Nordics are Qatar or Turkish (assuming one wants to avoid transfering in India).

Interesting how this is a completely new (and daily) time slot, instead of filling the gaps of the 2 semi-daily slots. Also that will not connect with much anything on HEL side, but that was obviously not the intent

Nice
Good news with added capacity from HEL.
It is probably due to a significant increase of travellers. I was thinking about it the other day when I checked availabilty and fares for this winter, it seemed like they have had some nice
demand from HEL.
The December-March increase is obviously aimed at the nordic tourist season. BKK, HKT, KBV, SIN, DPS, and even Australia is probably in high demand.
I saw some posts earlier in the thread mentioning poor Y quality on QR. In my opinion the QR Y-class is the the best product available, at least on the A380. However, there is no question about that their "flagship" routes = A380 is far better than any 787"Nightmare" routes or any other route of "lower priority".
Food, drinks and number of flight attendants has always been better on A380, not to mention the comfort. I can't come up with a better Y-class product than QR A380.

To Kathmandu, I like AY + 9W on separate tickets and one night stay in DEL on return . That way it is very comfortable travel (least flying and connections).

Thanks for the tip. I've never done that, always looked for the fastest connection. But then again I've often started in Sweden (and I have slept in the Doha Flounge a few times, too...).

This is great news for us C class leisure flyers. QR C class daily capacity has gone from 12 to 36 in a short period:
12 (320)
22 (787)
24 (330)
36 (320+330)
Expect more bargain C fares to come...and AY also seems to be responding selling C class to Asia as low as €1100 ex-HEL.
BTW, when travelling with my better half, I much prefer the 320/330 seat config to that of 787.
