They actually scan fast and you're through in seconds? That would be a nice improvement over the current ones.

I just saw them across the hall so I don’t know if they actually work as fast, but I’d imagine (and hope!) so!

AFAIK Pan Am had service to HEL in the 50's. I do not recall when that started.

Would be earlier than 50's. There's an AA / AOA timetable online showing scheduled flights to Helsinki. Oldest I found was from 1948. In 1950, AOA was merged with Pan Am.

Pan Am flew JFK-HEL also in the 1980's. The route was taken over by Delta in early 1990's and had a tag-on service to LED (or Moscow, can't remember anymore).

I think I found another special idiot at Tikkurila today. He catched me asking where I am going. Then started talking, and I made few detailed questions back and it turns out this guy seemed to know lots about travel...and tricks...on TRAIN not that it matters, but this was funny in the fact that he catched my attention he was looking a bit like our dear LGG, has some similar traits and that. A brother? I did not dear to ask if he had a Veturi Lumo card or hanging on VRtalk.

Did he learn you any tricks? 😀 I was on vacation i Italy recently, I whish I had known any tricks to get me lounge access on the trains there.
Have also heard you can cause fuel dumps (YQ removal) from flight bookings by adding a train-leg to the itinenary. Who knows, maybe train tricks is a big thing.

AY is not allowed to operate direct ARN-LED, a short stop in HEL compulsory.

There are alot of enthusiasts at the stations 😄😁 a few younger ones and a few older 😄

Some or should I say ALOT of them are quite well versed on tech and procedures, yet they rarely travel onboard the trains 😁

If only my KM on the rails counted towards status 😄
