Just came to think once reading other thread that there was an elderly couple onboard AY few weeks ago that I remember captain announced in three languages they had 50yrs anniversary (kultahäät) and all pax clapclapped.
They were served a fullsize domppabottle or I was not sure seeing which. I wonder if that was AY offering or did they pre-order it for tge flight?

(would be very FT to get to platinum anniversary, thats 80yrs!!)

Last night (AY1406) I saw/heard something I've never seen/heard before, not AY or any other carrier. I had upgraded myself, was sitting 2C (aside: checkmytrip showed 2A occupied, but I could choose it on finnair.com, and in the end there was nobody there #seatblock ). I was one of the first to board, sat there minding my business and reading. Friday night, some people had already had a few drinks, not very full flight. A youngish man with scraggy beard enters and looks around him in the business class (four rows, seven people), "Can I move there?" pointing to 4A/C. The FA says sorry no, this is business class. "Hhrmp, some business class", says he and shuffles down the aisle. A few minutes pass, and he is back.

"How much should I pay for upgrade to business class?"
"Hmm, let me ask my colleague." <points to galley>
"No, I meant how much should I pay you."
<visible shock>
"Sorry, that is not possible at all. At all."
<jonne exits>

Just realised you need to pay €6 for pdf newspapers. Iltalehti is free for all, and all papers and magazines are free for J pax as well as Plats and Lumos. This was an A320 flight. Do the same rules apply to long hauls now, too?

No such luck here. No 500k mail from Finnair. I reached it about two weeks ago but this was also the month my tracking period reset. Time to call up CS I guess.

Upon closer inspection, it looks like there is something for me waiting at Finnair Shop, so it did register after all. Unfortunately, none of the items are anything to get excited about.

I kind of wish they would offer open gift cards to the webshop when there isn’t a points or upgrade certificates option.

The other day I saw a Hornet landing at HEL - anyone knows the reason why?

Very often there is a pair of HN's at HEL, might be due to e.g. increased risk level for breaches (for example when they know some neighboring countries are having larger exercises over Gulf of Finland etc.) or for preparation of some training session near the sea etc. and they bring the planes to HEL from TMP.
But as they regularly keep them at HEL, naturally pilots likely need also to practice landing to HEL on time to time so I'd say seeing HN at HEL is just normal occurrence, not necessary even requiring any specific reasons.
