How often do they change menus? This has been the (only!) meal to/from London at least since Nov 21. Also wondering where do they find those really tiny chick breasts? Late last year had a similar meal on board transcon AA and the chicken was at least twice if not tripple the size of AY one.

They are specially bred for airline caterers to meet the specifications that airline passengers in premium cabins have asked for. Finnair passengers are lucky, they get the breasts, Aegean get the legs and wings!

Any recent HEL- LHR breakfast experiences? Considering to upgrade to get more sleep but only if breakfast is worth eating.

In November it was a potato rösti, scrambled eggs that tasted a little bit like socks, a croissant, a fruit salad packaged in plastic and a pot of jam. It made me not upgrade further flights to maximise sleep (and the legroom in emergency exit rows in Y is better).

Well my problem sorted itself as when I tried to upgrade, nothing happened, first app said I'm waitlisted. Then this disappeared and now upgrade option is no more

It's been a while since I've been on AY shorthaul flight in business class. I was supposed to be on KL's AMS-HEL on my way from Dubai to Finland, but thanks to Valtteri, I ended up on AF9626 operated by AY. Almost fully booked A321 with two rows of C-class. Service by the experienced chief purser was decent and so was the meal. No surprises here.

Fish starter, chicken with garlic sauce, mash and veggies, Aunt Mabel for dessert

Looks almost like pre-pandemic, if only we had a proper dessert to complete the korkealaatuinen ateriakokonaisuus.

One question has popped into my mind: am I right that intra-Europe all meat for hot meals is now some form of poultry for "sustainability reasons"? I mean, I see mainly hot meals with some sort of chicken here these days.

...as if we all wouldn't know that chicken is cheaper than beef to procure.

So, I still wanted to give a try to LHR J but as I dislike omelett, if I would convert to so religion, are there actually some breakfast alternative if I book special treatm...meal. I was considering the rather good value for money breakfast package over upgrade but thought getting more than one cup of coffee inflight is worth the difference...I assume they still servers unlimited coffee in SH J?

Can one avoid the salad by ordering a Kosher meal?

''A meal containing only kosher foods and prepared by a reputable specialist kitchen.'' is the description - and it sounds as if it is prepared somewhere else.
