A cool little detail I noticed this morning when flying back: using my phone's map app, I actually got a realtime location pinpointed and moving. Usually on airplane wifi the location is pinned to a ground location. Now it was like being in a car or train.

This can be done also on the planes without Wi-Fi. GPS(and GLONASS/Galileo too obviously) can be received even in flight mode and is quite accurate even with the speed and altitude of the aircraft. Map it self obivously won't update without data connection.

OH-LZC also has WI-FI installed and working. 👌

Maybe we should start a wiki to keep up with all birds with WI-FI?

The test period was supposed to be until mid-September. Is it still on? The pricing policy has not been revealed yet.

Connection established without Seat/Surname or AY+ account So the test period seems to be still going.

Wiki would be nice indeed. I just flew one the newish 32B and it did not have Wifi while I expected it to have.

I was on the previous flight (HEL-ZRH) and it worked well... when it worked. The satellite connection cut off in the middle of the flight for no obvious reasons.

OH-LZI had wifi this morning (it was offered but the satellite was disconnected...) but the test phase was over.

I think the same pricing applies as for LH.
AY Plat + Lumo entire flight for free
AY Gold, Eco Comfort and Business 1 hr for free

Interesting. My flight yesterday had free wifi. Maybe this changed as we have now October?

Do you know anything about pricing for non-AY OWE?

A week ago from LHR to HEL connection was good from before pushback to above North Sea, where the connection was lost until above DK. The purser explained that the connection above sea is sketchy. Don't know why...

Would be my guess too with the change of the month.
Don't know about the pricing for other OW tiers.

This is indeed the case, but only on shorthaul aircraft I think. I have not had problems connecting to wifi enroute LHR-HEL or vice versa on A350 over the sea. Maybe they use a different technology relying on antennae on the ground or something.

Oh, and it was good to meet fellow FTer Teppo last Friday. Safe travels!
